An autowallah opined his views about the recent move of demonetization undertaken by the ruling party. Akriti Bhatia, the co-Founder of Jan Ki Baat, probed him to talk about the effects that demonetization has had on his life, both personally and professionally: It felt good (when Narendra Modi made his announcement) that finally black money will is destroyed. He also said that he didnt have to face an adverse effects of demonetization as, out of pure luck, he was only paid in lower-value notes.
Demonetization came as a surprise to many when PM Modi declared his, and his governments intention to clean the nation, on 8 th November 2016. Getting rid of black money formed major chunk of Modi and BJPs 2014 manifesto. Withdrawal of the legal tender of ?1000 and ?500 met with staunch resistance by some groups and was questioned by many.
