Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, engaged in an exclusive interview with Pradeep Bhandari, Jan Ki Baat founder, and Consulting Editor at Zee News, in Mumbai.
This interview delved into various facets of politics during the 2024 elections.
Fadnavis, known for his assertive demeanor, didn’t mince words as he vehemently rebuked Uddhav Thackeray’s false claim suggesting that Fadnavis had intended to groom his son, Aditya Thackeray, for the position of Chief Minister.
Fadnavis sharply remarked, “You know when someone is panicking, he starts being delusional, he starts hallucinating, he starts seeing things. When someone says the truth, it’s effortless, however, you need too much effort to lie. Now his lie is getting exposed. I did tell him that since you are handing the party over to your son, so let him fight an election.”
Thackeray’s assertion, made at a rally in Mumbai’s Dharavi on April 21, regarding Fadnavis’s supposed commitment to groom Aaditya for the CM role after 2.5 years, met with Fadnavis’sstrong rebuttal. Fadnavis expressed reservations about Aaditya’s limited electoral experience, disputing Thackeray’s narrative.
Moreover, Thackeray’s persistence in spreading these falsehoods to various media outlets further complicates the political landscape in Maharashtra. The ongoing clash between the INDI Alliance and NDA intensifies as the Lok Sabha 2024 polls progress into the third phase.
In the midst of these heightened tensions and conflicting narratives, the electorate awaits clarity and transparency from their political leaders as they navigate through the intricacies of Maharashtra’s political arena.
