Satish Gautam, part of the Parliamentarians team in the upcoming Football for the Nation, is an MP from Aligarh. Excited about the event, Mr Gautam spoke to Pradip Bhandari of Jan Ki Baat, to showcase his views on the match. Kabbadi and footballs are soon going to be at par with cricket in India. The FIFA Under-17 World Cup thats to be held next year in India is a marker of that growing shift. When asked whether the Parliementarians would be able to win against the All-Stars, Mr Gauram confidently claimed that his team was full of Narendra Modis working spirit and was used to working full-time in the offices. Baba Ramdevs inaugurating the event, too, was a good sign.
The buzz about upcoming football match is worthy: its been called Football Ka Mahamuqabla, Football for the Nation, All Stars v/s India Parliament and given many other sensational titles. On 24th of July, Football for the Nation, is going to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, where celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Abhishek Bachan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Dino Morea, and others would play against some of the Indias biggest Parliamentarians like Babul Supriyo, Manoj Tiwari, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has been announced as the Brand Ambassador of this event, ready to kick-off the match.
A charity match of this scale serves many purposes. It is associated with government initiatives, to support the noble cause of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. The match proceeds too were going to the same campaigns. The other aim of the event is to promote young blooming talent within India.
