The team of Jan Ki Baat made a visit to the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwals rally opposing demonetization. However, many that the team spoke to were in favour of the Central governments policy, saying it was a necessary prerequisite for the deletion of black money. Pradip Bhandari conversed with a massive group that claimed to be fans of Narendra Modi. The group was chanting Mr Modis name and upon being interviewed by Jan Ki Baat, let their views about the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal be known. Lending their relentless support to Narendra Modi, and by extension the BJP that he is the face of, they praised all decisions taken by him.
Kejriwal held his rally at Azadpur Mandi and a number of AAP members spoke on the adverse effects the PMs decision has had on the people. Demanding the retraction of this policy, Kejriwal and his colleagues accused Narendra Modi of unleashing pain on the common men and women. Labelling demonetization as pretentious nationalism, Kejriwals ire was evident enough for those assembled to see. The number of Modi supporters at the rally, too, indicated their displeasure at Kejriwals speeches.
Black money has been a cause of concern in India for decades. The PMs initiative was a welcome one. The difficulties attached to that initiative which was felt on the ground, though, couldnt be ignored. How the ruling party chooses to respond will be known soon.
