As India celebrates its 70th Anniversary of Independence, the date serves as a reminder of the nation┬Тs history and the futuristic vision its citizenry are nurturing. On the 15th of August, in the year of 1947, India had finally claimed itself as an independent nation-state, free from foreign rule. The event was marked by the first Prime Minister of independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru┬Тs speech, Tryst with Destiny┬Т. India┬Тs colonial past, years of oppression finally saw an end on August 15, setting a tone for its bright future. With freedom comes greater responsibility; India continues its fight against the injustices it faced and the injustices other nations are still encountering.
Jan Ki Baat celebrates the day, wishing the citizens a happy and prosperous Independence Day. As Rabindranath Tagore said, Freedom is the soul of every country.
