The Founder of Jan Ki Baat, Pradip Bhandari, attended Udaan, a nukkad natak competition, which took place in the Faculty of Arts, North Campus. Many participants that he spoke to underlined the thematic intentions of their plays. The themes, an organizer said, were all concurrent issues: patriotism, nationalism were just two of the many themes, depicted in the plays and their arguments intensified by the dialogues and songs.
The competition would continue for 4 days, starting from 20th of September. More than 25 teams from DU and other universities have participated in this years festival. Satire, sarcasm and comedy, too, were employed besides serious drama, to force people to think about the current, unresolved issues that surround the nation: Uri attacks, terrorism, development, all found a place in the performances of these students.
Jan Ki Baat applauds the aim behind the competition. The amalgamation of youths spirit and national issues through theatrical forms is a good way to engage as well as educate the audience.
