Swacchta initiative by Sampoorna

Akriti Bhatia, the co-founder of Jan Ki Baat, spoke to the President of Sampoorna, Ms Taruna. Sampoorna works for the socioeconomic and moral upliftment of the residents of backward regions in Delhi. The organization’s workers attempt to bring about social reforms to encourage those who are not given same educational opportunities as other sections of the society. Ms Taruna’s Mission 2016 is to contribute towards the maintenance of sanitation standards of all the city’s government school toilets. She says that she’s taken inspiration from the PM’s vision of Swachh Bharat and other citizens too should imbibe and cultivate that image. The least one can do for the nation is keep their surroundings clean.

Seva Sangam was held at the New Delhi Municipal Corporation Convention Centre. It hopes to create jobs for the unemployed and unskilled and simultaneously contribute to the goals set for national development, by utilizing the existing resources. Narendra Modi’s Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, and his Make in India campaign have become huge motivating factors in such establishment of such creative enterprises.

Swachhta, or cleanliness, has been a major issue in India. The Modi government’s acknowledgement of this problem and design of a comprehensive plan to counter it speaks of its willingness to transform India, step by step.
