MAHA CABINET MINISTER NAWAB MALIK ACCUSED NCB OF LETTING OFF BJP LEADER’S RELATIVE WHO WAS DETAINED FROM THE CRUISE ON OCTOBER 2ND
Responding to the allegations made by Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik, NCB’s top officials Deputy Director General Gyaneshvar Singh and Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede held a press conference outside the NCB office in Mumbai and said the following:
ON HOW NCB OPERATES
‘NCB follows professional approach. We take action on public sources and intelligence sources’
ON INDEPENDENT WITNESSES
‘Total of 9 independent public witnesses were involved. Field verification of independent wotnesses isn’t possible as focus is on investigation & operation..We didn’t know the witnesses prior to the operations’
ON HOW DETAINEES WERE TREATED
‘None of the detained or arrested person was ill treated. Even the lawyers of the accused took note’
ON HOW MANY WERE LET OFF
‘Six persons were let off due to lack of evidence while 8 were arrested. Later during due course of investigation they could be called again’
ON SEIZURES & ARRESTS
‘On the basis of interrogation and disclosure made the accused, 6 follow up seizures took place and many arrests have been made. Total number of accused as of now is 18’
ON ANTI DRUG OPERATION
‘Arrests show a deeper drug nexus exits which is spoiling our young generation’
ON NCP’s ALLEGATIONS
‘All allegations baseless, malicious & based on conjectures’ For a second time, Senior NCP leader & Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik held a press conference, showed photos & videos to claim that 3 people detained along with Aryan Khan that night were let off because one of them is BJP leader’s relative. NCB responded to the charge by saying that not 3 but 6 people were let off because of lack of evidence.
