Varanasi witnessed a show of strength as Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi took out a roadshow in Prime minister’s constituency. The roadshow clashed with PM’s visit on the same day ahead of last phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh on March 8.
The streets of Varanasi transformed into a sea of red as Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi descended upon the holy city to hold a grand roadshow ahead of the seventh and final phase of polling to the state assembly. With music playing, slogans and caricatures of the leaders, it was altogether a very vibrant show.
This SP-Congress roadshow comes during the 6th phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections. Varanasi, however, goes to the polls on March 8 – the seventh and last phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly election.
Results will be announced on March 11.
