Jan Ki Baat dedicated this special episode to the ‘Father of the Nation’ on his birth anniversary.
Pradip Bhandari, Founder and CEO, Jan Ki Baat talks to Parul Mahajan, Social Khadi Leader on this.
2nd October is celebrated as a national holiday to pay our respects to a great leader India did had ‘Mahatma Gandhi’.
He himself was a great social reformer along with being a political figure who initiated a lot of movements and ideas.
Gandhi propagated the idea of ‘Swaraj’ and also the ‘Swadeshi movement’. He wanted Indians to spend the resources, money on India in the form of accepting Indian goods. He asked the people to boycott British cloth as it is costly and the revenue goes to them.
Today, a huge mass is falling for foreign brands and products. ‘Swadeshi’ is fading somewhere.
So, to celebrate his idea of Khadi, Jan Ki Baat talks to Parul Mahajan.
“Khadi is the best garment. The cloth is very good. I started wearing Khadi 2 years back and today i do not wear any other cloth.”- Meghna, Buyer
“It is Gandhi Ji’s birthday that is why I am wearing Khadi.”- Kid
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be seen as the perfect brand ambassador of Khadi. And I believe Modi’s dream ‘Khadi pehne saari Abaadi’ would soon turn into reality.”- Parul Mahajan
“This crowd buying Khadi is all due to the efforts of the PM.”- RP Gupta, Member of KVIC
The occasion showed up a lot of people buying Khadi. This is definitely something achievable.
For a firm believer in Swadeshi, there need be no Pharisaical self satisfaction on wearing Khadi-Mahatma Gandhi
The concept of New India laid out by our PM on this Independence Day doesn’t only relate to sorting problems of the youth but also to motivating them to go for Khadi instead of western cloth.
Stay tuned to Jan Ki Baat.
