Jaiveer Shergill National Media Panelist Indian National Congress shared his viewpoint on the massive victory of Congress Party in Gurdaspur bye poll in Punjab. He shared his official stance by a whatsapp video on jan ki baat official number.
The main points of his statement were-
- Gurdaspur bye- poll reflects the mood of the nation against the Narendra Modi led government at Centre.
- This is a rejection of failed economic policy of the government, particularly demonetization and GST( Good and Service Tax)
- He also exhumed confidence that this win is a sign of revival of the Congress party.
The Congress party defeated the BJP – SAD alliance, and AAP and won the Gurdaspur bye poll with a margin of more than 1 lakh 90 thousand votes. The result of the bye- poll were declared on October 17, 2017.
