Pradip Bhandari and Akriti Bhatia from Jan Ki Baat brings a sneek peek before the first joint press conference of Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav at Taj Vivanta, Lucknow.
The poster behind has a photograph of Rahul Gandhi with symbol of a cycle near him and of Akhilesh Yadav’s photo near Congress’s symbol with the words ‘UP ko ye sath pasand hai’ thus symbolizing the bond between the two parties. Congress, from being a principle opposition party to a junior party in all the alliances in the UP Elections, how will it affect the 2019 elections? This is definitely something to look forward to.
The BJP has released its manifesto. Congress had planned to give every citizen a smartphone and BJP has promised to give 1GB free internet to all the citizens. Will the race to give people free internet and the digitalization be the principle voting factor? Or will it be jobs for the 5 crore people who venture out of Uttar Pradesh to New Delhi and other places every year in search of jobs?
It will thus be interesting to note the camaraderie between the the two leaders since this alliance has taken place after a confrontation between the two. Initially, they were on the verge of break-up and finally there is an alliance taking place. Thus this press conference will decide the power relations between the two parties. The Samajwadi party really has some very educated leaders. Will Congress take a junior role or will they be giving some important announcements for the press as a show of strength now that they are finally together? So how will the leaders address the questions asked to them?
Stay tuned to find out!
