Yogi Adityanath has been declared as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. His original name is Ajay Singh Bisht. He is a head priest in Gorakhnath Mutt, a Hindu temple in Gorakhpur. He has been a Member of Parliament Gorakhpur, UP consecutively for 5 times since 1998. Hailing from a Rajput family, he holds a bachelors degree in mathematics. He is the founder of Hindu Yuva Vahini- labelled as Hindu youth socio-cultural organization which is also alleged as a militant outfit.
Many charges have been imposed on him including rioting, attempt to murder, carrying deadly weapons, endangering life or personal safety of others, unlawful assembly, trespassing on burial places and criminal intimidation.
A firebrand Hindu priest who praised Donald Trumps Muslim ban and once likened the Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to a terrorist has been chosen to run Indias most populous state. Adityanaths appointment has been interpreted as a sign that, with national elections pending in two years, the BJP intends to double down on its strategy of stitching Hindus, traditionally driven by caste distinctions, into a larger voting bloc.
Now the question is that would he be able to deliver on Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas.
